The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slide throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dezman's waist but Dezman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Slide off to one side.

Slide manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dezman on his heels. He'll look to pass Dezman's guard now, I'm sure.
Slide passes into half guard.

Slide is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Dezman is trying to control but can't.
Slide prevents Dezman from standing back up.
Slide seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Dezman does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Slide is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
