Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Kampmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Archer!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Jeff Smith and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kampmann gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Archer works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
A nice left hand lands by Kampmann.
I was talking to Kampmann's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Kampmann blocks an uppercut.
Archer pushes Kampmann back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Archer holds on and takes a little breather.

We're going to have a standup here because Chris Kampmann wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Kampmann tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Archer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Aaron Archer will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Archer shoots for a double leg takedown but Kampmann sprawls well. He's pushed Archer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Archer's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
