Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marek Koltun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Charles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Marek Koltun!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Charles has Koltun up against the cage in a clinch.
Charles misses with a hook to the ribs.
Koltun prevents a body shot from Charles.
Charles throws an elbow that misses.
Charles misses with some punches.
Koltun blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Charles throws a head punch that misses.

Koltun tightens his grip and picks Charles up, before dumping him to the ground. Charles manages to land in guard.
Koltun trying to control the position from guard on top but Charles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Charles working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Koltun.
Koltun connects with a couple of short punches.
Charles utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Charles is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Gentleman's Club that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Charles manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Koltun manages to get himself to full guard.

Charles's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Charles duly obliges.
Koltun throws a head kick that half lands.
Charles lands a head kick. Koltun smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Charles tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Koltun is able to avoid easily.
Koltun has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Charles.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Charles thows a left - swing and a miss!
Koltun throws a hook to the side of Charles's head but Charles sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Charles tries to clinch but Koltun is having none of it.
Charles scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Koltun ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Koltun shoots in for a takedown but Charles shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Charles throws a solid leg kick but Koltun takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Charles.
Charles doesn't manage to clinch there - Koltun circles away.
Charles tries to clinch but Koltun is having none of it.

Koltun throws a good cross that connects.
A jab lands there for Charles.

Koltun closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Charles's guard.

Koltun is in close to Charles's body, working some short punches and elbows.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Koltun accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Charles has control of Koltun's left arm, preventing Koltun from doing any damage.
Koltun has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Koltun is looking to work some ground and pound but Charles has wrist control.

Koltun lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Charles has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Charles there as he acknowledges the shot.

Koltun pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Charles tries to clinch there but Koltun circles away.

Koltun has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Charles connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Koltun throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Charles throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Koltun moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Koltun is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Charles has managed to free his arm - good work.
Koltun uses his free foot to push down on Charles's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Charles.
Charles tries to hold on but Koltun postures up.

Poor strikes thrown by Koltun there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
