Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Franco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patrick Kenzie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomez comes to the cage accompanied by Bad Motherfucker. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kenzie pinned against the cage. Kenzie gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
No luck for Gomez with that takedown attempt.
Gomez fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Franco Gomez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gomez closes the distance and clinches up with Kenzie, looking for a takedown. Gomez pushes Kenzie against the cage but Kenzie circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kenzie's corner calls for a 1-2. Kenzie obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Gomez darts in looking for a takedown but Kenzie gets double underhooks and turns Gomez into the cage.
Kenzie escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Left hook, right uppercut from Kenzie.
Kenzie has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kenzie thuds a left hand into Gomez's body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gomez throws a head kick but Kenzie moves out of range.
Gomez fails with the takedown
and Kenzie counters with a nice body shot.
Gomez is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Gomez takes a jab right on the kisser.
Gomez drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Kenzie is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Gomez off and has taken his back!
Kenzie keeps control of the position as Gomez tries to break free.
Gomez is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Kenzie wants to control but Gomez is keeping busy.
Kenzie controls the action.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The ref stands the fighters back up. Patrick Kenzie was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Gomez shoots and misses
and Kenzie counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Gomez seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Gomez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kenzie defends it nicely.
Kenzie lands with a straight right. Gomez didn't see that one coming.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gomez takes one on the button.
No luck for Gomez with that takedown attempt.
Kenzie lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Kenzie throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Gomez stumbling backwards into the cage! Gomez bounces back off the cage towards Kenzie, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Kenzie lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Kenzie celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:34 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Patrick Kenzie!
After winning the bout, Patrick Kenzie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
