Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Osty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Calloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Osty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Calloway!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Calloway wants to clinch up but Osty keeps it at a distance.
Calloway dives in and grabs Osty's left leg, looking for a takedown. Osty pushes down on Calloway's head and hops out.
Calloway looks for a takedown but Osty sprawls well.
Calloway fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
James Osty has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Calloway.
Calloway shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Osty pinned against the cage. Osty gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
The fight stays on the outside here - Calloway looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Osty gets caught napping as Calloway dives in and scores a takedown. Osty manages to retain guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Calloway has closed the distance and engaged Osty in a clinch.

Calloway's coach down at Den of Tears (22 coaches, $250 fee) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Calloway's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Calloway breaks from the clinch.
Calloway dives in and grabs Osty's left leg, looking for a takedown. Osty pushes down on Calloway's head and hops out.

Osty throws a combination. Calloway tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Calloway closes the distance and clinches up with Osty, looking for a takedown. Calloway pushes Osty against the cage but Osty circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Calloway moves forwards but Osty connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Osty misses with a looping right.
Osty throws a shot from downtown. Calloway moves away and avoids it.
Calloway moves out of range as Osty strikes.
Osty swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Calloway drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Calloway works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Calloway wants to control but Osty is keeping him busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Calloway tries to move into full mount but can't pass Osty's legs.
Calloway in side control, throwing shots but Osty defends.
Calloway wants to control but Osty is keeping him busy.

Calloway has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Calloway was stalling too much, according to the referee.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Calloway controls the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Osty looks to land a combination but Calloway avoids it well.
Calloway is looking to clinch but Osty is avoiding it.
James Osty is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Osty stuffs the takedown attempt from Calloway. Calloway gets slowly back to his feet.
Osty blocks a head kick by Calloway.
Calloway misses with a body shot.

Calloway looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Calloway stalling.

Osty wants to get back to his feet.
Osty avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Calloway.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Calloway perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Calloway shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Osty as he avoids it easily.

Calloway shoots in for a takedown but Osty shows good takedown defense.
Osty paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Calloway jumps guard but Osty stands there with Calloway around his waist. Calloway gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Calloway pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Osty manages to break the clinch.

Calloway feints and as Osty raises his hands in defense, Calloway changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Calloway is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Let's hope that Calloway has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Mark Calloway wasn't active enough on the ground.
Osty stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Osty wants it to stay on the feet.
Osty dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Calloway is breathing heavily.
Calloway throws a series of punches but Osty moves out of range.
Osty lands with a nice combination. Calloway backs away looking to recover.

Osty feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Calloways jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Calloway looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Osty is fending him off so far but Calloway persists. Nope, Osty circles away and we're back to standing.

Osty stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Osty wants it to stay on the feet.
Calloway ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Calloway changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Osty tries to avoid it but Calloway manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Osty to the ground. Osty escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Osty.
I think Osty has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
