Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Edison Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aren Kirakosyan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kirakosyan's waist but Kirakosyan gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patterson off to one side.
Kirakosyan shoots in but no luck this time.
A clash of legs there as Kirakosyan blocks the low kick.
Patterson throws a right and a left that Kirakosyan avoids nicely.

Patterson has Kirakosyan up against the cage in a clinch.
Kirakosyan can't get the takedown.
Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Kirakosyan goes for a takedown in the clinch but Patterson prevents it.
Patterson avoids a wild elbow strike from Kirakosyan.
Patterson tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kirakosyan avoids it.
Kirakosyan is pressed up against the cage. Patterson has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Kirakosyan down to the mat. Kirakosyan avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Patterson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Patterson works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Kirakosyan jumps guard but Patterson turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Patterson is trying to push Kirakosyan away but Kirakosyan has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Patterson changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Kirakosyan fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Patterson shoots in looking for a takedown but Kirakosyan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Patterson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Edison Patterson will probably get the nod.

With the fighters up against the cage, Kirakosyan throws an elbow but misses.
Patterson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

That was a close second round but I would say that Edison Patterson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Edison Patterson.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Patterson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
