The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bender has taken the fight to the clinch.

Bender's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Felipee has Bender pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Felipee pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Bender tumbling to the mat - Felipee dives into Bender's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Felipee accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Felipee tries to stand but Bender is controlling from the bottom.

Bender manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Felipee takes the fight into the clinch.
Bender using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Felipee has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Felipee lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Felipee working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Felipee has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Felipee is keen to just control but Bender is a slippery customer.

Felipee is looking for a kimura here.
Bender misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Bender could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Bender throws his legs up looking for a submission but Felipee uses it to pass to side control.

Felipee tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Felipee has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bender tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Felipee lands strikes to the head.

Felipee looking to break Bender's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Bender remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Felipee will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Felipee lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Felipee gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Felipee is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Bender up.
Felipee lands strikes to the head.
Bender just trying to survive but Felipee is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Felipee.

Bender is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bender is trapped and Felipee is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Oh Bender is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Felipee tightening his grip on Bender, looking for the choke.
Felipee cracks Bender with a big right hand from the back mount! Bender immediately covers up and the referee dives in to save him under a barrage of more strikes! Felipee takes this one by TKO!
