Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moses Diggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonah Sumrall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diggs comes to the cage accompanied by FAME. Sumrall has chosen Kutless - Smile as his entrance music. Jonah Sumrall has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 41 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Moses Diggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jonah Sumrall!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Diggs moves into the clinch successfully.
Diggs working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Diggs misses with a punch to the body.
Diggs keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Sumrall's efforts to push away.
Diggs has Sumrall pressed against the cage, preventing Sumrall from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Diggs is working for takedown but Sumrall is calmly controlling the position for now.
Diggs tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sumrall avoids it.
Sumrall wants to break free but Diggs has control.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Diggs takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Sumrall is looking to control Diggs's arms but Diggs gets an underhook and turns him. Now Sumrall has his back to the cage.
Diggs throws a punch but it's blocked by Sumrall.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Diggs.
Diggs struggles to land a body shot inside as Sumrall controls his hands.
Diggs misses with a knee strike.
Diggs swings wildly with an uppercut but Sumrall uses good head movement to avoid it.
Diggs displaying some good clinch control by pressing Sumrall up against the cage.
Diggs goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

We've been hearing reports that Diggs has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Diggs throws a head punch that misses.
Sumrall is looking to break free of the clinch but Diggs has double underhooks.
Diggs fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Sumrall tries to land a knee to the head but Diggs blocks with his arms.

Sumrall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sumrall avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Diggs stalks Sumrall and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sumrall's face. Sumrall staggers backwards, shaken.

Jab, jab by Diggs - just one landing.
A solid body kick from Diggs.
Diggs is looking to score with low kicks.
Diggs throws a lazy body kick
and Sumrall counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Diggs looks to throw the jab but Sumrall is out of range.
Diggs pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Diggs throws a looping overhand right but Sumrall ducks down to avoid it.
Diggs throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Sumrall.
Diggs misses the jab.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Diggs lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sumrall has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sumrall and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Diggs throws a right hand that Sumrall ducks under and follows up with a left that Sumrall also avoids with ease.
Diggs lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Sumrall counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Sumrall circles away from the clinch attempt.
Moses Diggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sumrall avoids the head kick by Diggs.
Good leg kick by Diggs there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Diggs rushes Sumrall and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sumrall pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Diggs misses with a hook.
Diggs looks to land a left hand but Sumrall moved out of range nicely.

Diggs has clasped his hands together around Sumrall's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Diggs is putting a hurting on Sumrall here, landing some big shots from side control.
Diggs tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Diggs creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sumrall sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Sumrall on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sumrall avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Diggs.
Diggs misses with the ground and pound.
Diggs working the strikes but Sumrall uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Diggs is just content to waste time from the top position. Sumrall takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Sumrall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Diggs is one step ahead there.

Diggs with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Diggs trying to control but Sumrall is working from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Diggs seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Diggs lands a nice shot that snaps Sumrall's head back.
Sumrall has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Diggs finds it's way round the side to connect with Sumrall's head.
Diggs fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sumrall is out of range.
Diggs lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Diggs pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sumrall is out of range and Diggs settles back down.
Sumrall gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Diggs.
Diggs attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Diggs cracks a nice hook into Sumrall's ribs.

Diggs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sumrall!

Diggs working the ground and pound but Sumrall is defending the strikes.
Diggs throws a strike aimed at the side of Sumrall's head but Sumrall avoids it well.
Diggs looks up at the clock and then as Sumrall takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Diggs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The ground and pound from Diggs seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Diggs looks up at the clock and then as Sumrall takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Diggs smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Diggs remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Sumrall tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Diggs presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Sumrall is squirming around, avoiding Diggs's attempts to control the action.
Diggs controlling the pace for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sumrall holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Diggs tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

And that's the end of the fight!
Moses Diggs showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Diggs has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
