Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shamrock misses with a left hand

and Kane counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kane prevents Shamrock from getting back to his feet.

We've been hearing that Kane has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kane working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Kane decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Kane changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shamrock tries to avoid it but Kane manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shamrock to the ground. Shamrock escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Shamrock connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kane. Kane circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Kane steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Shamrock.

Kane drives through with a takedown into guard.

Kane has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Shamrock is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kane wants to pass the guard but Shamrock is keeping the position.
Shamrock wants to stand up but Kane is controlling him.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kane drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shamrock looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shamrock looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shamrock!

Shamrock stands up.
Kane wants to clinch up but Shamrock keeps it at a distance.
Kane shoots in looking for a takedown. Shamrock tries to sprawl out of it but Kane keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shamrock manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kane throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shamrock's waist but Shamrock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kane off to one side.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kane shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shamrock but Shamrock pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kane's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shamrock connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kane scrambles back to his feet.

Shamrock lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Kane goes for a double leg but Shamrock avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Shamrock continues to drive forward.

Shamrock leaves Kane with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Shamrock feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Kanes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kane darts in looking for a takedown but Shamrock gets double underhooks and turns Kane into the cage.
Kane is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Shamrock to keep the fight standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Shamrock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kane closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shamrock's guard.

Shamrock is looking to stand up but Kane isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Shamrock manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
