The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Dean Nicholls seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nicholls keeps the fight on the outside.
Holman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nicholls paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nicholls keeps Holman at a distance using the push kick.

Nicholls lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Nicholls lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A solid leg kick lands there for Nicholls.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nicholls thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Nicholls is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

You get the feeling that Holman really doesn't like being in this position too much.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
