The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Mauricio Rocha and Luis Engracia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa tries to close the distance and clinch but Rutkowski swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Barbosa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rutkowski.
Rutkowski looks to score with a jab to the body but Barbosa is just out of range.
Barbosa scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rutkowski has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Barbosa tries a head kick but it misses.
Rutkowski misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Barbosa.

Rutkowski closes the distance and pushes Barbosa back into the cage.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Barbosa trying to control the position from guard on top but Rutkowski is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rutkowski is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Barbosa has his hands clasped together but Rutkowski extends and breaks Barbosa's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Rutkowski.
