The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hidori takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
McGuiness showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Hidori.
No joy there for McGuiness, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
McGuiness misses with a hook
and Hidori counters with a head kick.
McGuiness swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hidori.
Hidori scores with a kick to the body.
Hidori fails with a takedown attempt.
A right-left combo lands from McGuiness.


Hidori is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
McGuiness missing with a left hand there. Hidori was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
McGuiness rushes in with a sloppy looking punch

and Hidori moves into the clinch.
Hidori doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Hidori pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McGuiness connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Hidori's hands.
McGuiness scores with a jab.
Oh Hidori is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Hidori darts in trying to clinch
and McGuiness counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
McGuiness darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Hidori seems to have got his legs back now.
McGuiness lands a jab to the head.
Hidori shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McGuiness sprawls well. McGuiness wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hidori gets slowly back to his feet.
McGuiness lands with an overhand left.
McGuiness's jab looks to have found its range, popping Hidori under the eye.
McGuiness waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hidori.
McGuiness might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Hidori takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
McGuiness misses with a double jab.
McGuiness cracks a nice hook into Hidori's ribs.
James McGuiness is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
McGuiness keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Benji Hidori. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hidori moves in looking to clinch but McGuiness pushes him off.
Hidori moves out of range as McGuiness strikes.
Hidori uses good head movement to avoid the hook from McGuiness.
Hidori shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McGuiness pinned against the cage. McGuiness gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Oooooh!!! McGuiness has knocked Hidori down with a huge combo! McGuiness steps away and waves a wobbly Hidori back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
McGuiness batters Hidori with a massive right followed by a huge left! Hidori is out on his feet looking like a zombie as McGuiness lands a final crushing right hand to drop Hidori to the mat with a gruesome thud! McGuiness is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). James McGuiness!
