Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Miguel Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zachary White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Miguel Santiago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zachary White!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White misses with a series of wild punches.
White looks to land a combination but Santiago avoids it well.
Santiago gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
White lands with a nice body punch.
Santiago takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
A right-left combo lands from White.
Santiago needs to keep his hands up - White had a free shot at his head there.
White swings for the body but Santiago moves out of range.

Santiago darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

White is defending against the submission attempts here by Santiago.
Santiago seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but White does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
White really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santiago. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Santiago is working for a submission of some sort.

Santiago is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Miguel Santiago wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
White just misses with a punch to the body.

White has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Santiago gets the takedown into side control.
Santiago prevents White from escaping the position.
Santiago wants to control but White is keeping him busy.
Santiago tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Santiago is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but White is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Santiago is looking to take a break and control but White is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
White wants to get back to his feet.
Santiago tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Santiago moves into full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
White trying desperately to get to his feet.

Santiago is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but White is surviving well by controlling Santiago's body position as best he can.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Santiago tries to control but White wriggling away.
White is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if White can do anything to dispel that myth.

Santiago looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
White is trying to escape the mount but Santiago keeps good control and instead manages to take White's back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Santiago is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

White is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Santiago gets his way!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Santiago's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Santiago is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
White connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Santiago slips a jab and a cross from White.
White misses with a few strikes there.
Santiago dives in and grabs White's left leg, looking for a takedown. White pushes down on Santiago's head and hops out.
Santiago uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by White.
White lands with a shot to the body.
White misses with a few strikes there.
White throws a body punch but Santiago moves out of range.
White swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Zachary White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Santiago dives in for a single leg takedown but White sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Santiago pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Santiago is on the wrong end of a nice combination from White.


It looks like Miguel Santiago has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
White tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Santiago was well out of range. Poor timing from White.
White misses with a jab, cross combination.
Miguel Santiago is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

White lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.


Santiago is rocked!
Santiago fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but White avoids it really well and circles away.
Oh Santiago is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Miguel Santiago. That's going to take a lot out of him.
White scores with a shot to the body.
White is breathing heavily.
White is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Santiago like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Santiago from another fist facial!

Our winner, Zachary White, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
