A fine choice. Marciano is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: DEAD MAN'S GUN. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Marciano.
Marciano slips a straight right by Reed.

Marciano rushes Reed and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Reed is trying to push Marciano away but Marciano has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
I was talking to Reed's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Marciano tries a body shot but Reed blocks it.
Marciano working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Marciano lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Marciano lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Reed backwards.

Reed pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Marciano clips Reed with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Reed a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.

Reed is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marciano closes the distance and catches Reed with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Reed is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Reed is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Reed is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! Marciano takes it!
