Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Orion Tenga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mendes Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Orion Tenga!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mendes Lima!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tenga is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Lima stuffs the takedown attempt from Tenga. Tenga gets slowly back to his feet.
Tenga throws a lazy uppercut
and Lima makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Lima looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tenga throws a looping overhand right but Lima ducks down to avoid it.
Tenga closes the distance and clinches up with Lima, looking for a takedown. Tenga pushes Lima against the cage but Lima circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tenga closes the distance and pushes Lima back into the cage.
Tenga misses with a short punch on the inside.
Lima gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tenga.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Orion Tenga. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Tenga manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lima postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Tenga isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lima stacks Tenga on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lima!
Lima is looking to take a break and control but Tenga is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

We've been hearing good reports from Tenga's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lima wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tenga, who protects the arm well.
Tenga is trying to control Lima's posture but Lima avoids it.

Tenga is trying to improve his position.
Lima advances to mount.
Lima lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Lima prevents Tenga from getting the reversal.
Tenga reaches up to try and control the position but Lima seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Tenga rolls and tries to escape and now Lima has his back!
Can Tenga hold on?! Lima is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Tenga is breathing heavily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Lima is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Tenga taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Lima.
