The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Ryoma Takatsuka and Micheangelo Fripello.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Palmer has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Maya throws a sloppy head kick and Palmer moves out of range easily.
Maya swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Maya moves away from the strike by Palmer.
Maya takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Palmer misses with a low kick.
Palmer lands a jab.

It looks like Razor Maya has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Maya takes a swing at Palmer's ribcage but misses.
Maya thows a body kick. Palmer tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Palmer connects with the punch.
Palmer moves out of range of the body kick.

Palmer shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Maya fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Palmer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Maya is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Palmer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Palmer is looking to improve his position but Maya isn't that keen on the idea.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That was a close round but I would say that Razor Maya will probably get the nod.

Palmer misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Maya.
Palmer loads up on a big right hand but Maya slips the punch.
Maya throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Maya throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Palmer stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Maya.
Palmer walks forward, straight into a front kick from Maya.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Maya is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Maya feints a jab and as Palmer dips his head, Maya unleashes a brutal head kick that catches Palmer right on the jaw! Timbeeer! Palmer falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the ropes! Maya smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
