PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between TJ Maximus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sid Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Time Is Running Out. Morrison comes into a darkened arena with his song building. You're Going Down kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! TJ Maximus could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sid Morrison's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, TJ Maximus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sid Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Maximus throws a series of punches but Morrison avoids them all with ease.

Morrison closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Morrison lands in his opponent's guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Morrison working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Morrison drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maximus dives on top into guard.
Maximus slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Morrison not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morrison working for submissions but it's allowed Maximus to get to half guard.

Maximus decides to stand up.
Maximus swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Morrison.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morrison shoots in but no luck this time.
Maximus swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Maximus misses with a series of wild punches.
Maximus digs a good body shot into Morrison's ribs.
Maximus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Maximus throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Morrison.

Oooooh!!! Maximus has knocked Morrison down with a huge combo! Maximus steps away and waves a wobbly Morrison back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Morrison is rocked!

It looks like Sid Morrison has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Maximus throws a right and a left that both miss.
Morrison is still on wobbly legs! Can Maximus finish him?
Maximus looks to land a combination but Morrison avoids it well.
Maximus plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Morrison to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Morrison just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
