Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jamison Freidrichs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jamison Freidrichs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dave Spiteri!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiteri misses the shot to the body.
Freidrichs dives in for a single leg takedown but Spiteri sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Spiteri.

Spiteri manages to break the clinch.
Spiteri misses with a body shot.
Spiteri stuffs the takedown attempt from Freidrichs. Freidrichs gets slowly back to his feet.
Spiteri looks to land a combination but Freidrichs avoids it well.
Horrible takedown by Freidrichs or perhaps it was just good defense by Spiteri which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamison Freidrichs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Spiteri swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Freidrichs feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Spiteri will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
