Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 24 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bryan Bishop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 2, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Crazy Dog!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dog counters with a three punch combo that has Bishop backing up. Bishop nods at Dog to acknowledge the strikes.

Dog drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dog trying to control the position but Bishop is working away.
Bishop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dog on the ground.

Dog tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dog wants to control but Bishop is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dog wants to control for a moment but Bishop uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Bishop is in trouble now - Dog has advanced to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bishop is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Dog scoring with strikes but Bishop is staying in there.
Dog lands a heavy elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Dog is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Bishop to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Bishop shrugs it off.
Bishop tries to lock up and control but Dog gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Dog throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Bishop is wriggling around trying to escape.
Dog throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bishop because Dog loaded up on that one.

Dog misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Dog looking to ground and pound but Bishop is blocking nicely.

Dog goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Bishop is on top in guard.
Bishop has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Dog looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bishop is one step ahead there.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bishop trying to control the position from guard on top but Dog is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crazy Dog dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dog misses with a double jab.
Bishop looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Bishop is looking to land body kicks.
Bishop shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dog defends it nicely.
Dog rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bishop moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bishop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dog as he avoids it easily.
Bishop darts in looking for a takedown but Dog gets double underhooks and turns Bishop into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bryan Bishop. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bishop drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Dog gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bishop takes a shot to the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dog effectively controlling the action here.

Bishop manages to break the clinch.
Bishop shoots in for a double leg but Dog sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bishop shoots and misses
and Dog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dog cracks Bishop with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Dog with a nice cross.
Dog will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dog swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Dog throws a hook but Bishop blocks it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bishop decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Dog looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Dog regains full guard. Nicely done.

Dog looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Bishop slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Dog looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dog is trying to keep Bishop in close.
Bishop trying to control but Dog is working from the bottom.
Bishop with a flurry of punches that miss.
Dog can't keep his opponent in guard - Bishop advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dog wants to improve his position but Bishop is controlling well.

Dog actively working from the bottom here.
Dog makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Dog.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bishop is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Crazy Dog showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Bishop doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dog counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dog controlling the pace.
Dog works his way into full mount!
Dog can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bishop is looking to escape.

Dog misses with a head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Bishop holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Dog tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Dog dominating with strikes here.
Bishop is looking to improve his position but Dog isn't that keen on the idea.
Bishop avoids a series of strikes thrown by Dog.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dog looking to control and managing it successfully.
Dog unloads with some shots from mount but Bishop bucks and avoids them well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dog lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Dog punching from mount but Bishop doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Dog looking to ground and pound but Bishop is blocking nicely.
Bryan Bishop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Bishop can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dog throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Crazy Dog comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dog has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
