And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chad Mendes!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter wants to clinch up but Mendes keeps it at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hunter breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hunter lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mendes.

Hunter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hunter gets in close and instigates a clinch.
I was talking to Hunter's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Hunter's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mendes looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mendes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hunter throws a right and a left that both miss.

Hunter breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mendes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Hunter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mendes.
Dark Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chad Mendes.
A hook to the body from Hunter.
Mendes jumps guard but Hunter stands there with Mendes around his waist. Mendes gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Mendes tries to keep at a distance but Hunter has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hunter blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Hunter pushes Mendes against the cage. Hunter is working some dirty boxing. Hunter pushes off with a quick right hook! Mendes goes down! Mendes tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Hunter moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dark Hunter!
