Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rashad Banks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Les Sobrante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Sobrante's choice of entrance music: Primus - Fisticuffs. Les Sobrante has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rashad Banks !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Les Sobrante!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Banks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sobrante is looking for a sweep.
Banks scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Sobrante to see if he's OK.
Sobrante wants to control but Banks postures up.
Sobrante sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Sobrante gets back to full guard.
Banks is working Sobrante over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

I've been told that Sobrante has been drilling his wrestling of late, which has already helped him take this fight to the mat. Let's see how much of an impact it has on the outcome of the ground game.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sobrante thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Banks is pushing Sobrante's head away, looking to escape. Sobrante manages to hold on to the position though.

Sobrante swings around for an armbar but Banks sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Sobrante's guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sobrante is on top in guard.

Sobrante is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Banks lands a couple of decent looking shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!



Banks looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sobrante!
Sobrante is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Banks off and has taken his back!

Sobrante is cranking Banks 's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Banks ! He's tightened the choke and Banks is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Les Sobrante!
After winning the bout, Les Sobrante thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
