The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gzrel just misses with a punch to the body.
Gzrel connects with a good right hand that stumbles Fenix. Fenix circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Gzrel bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gzrel ducks under a wild hook from Fenix.
Fenix gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Gzrel counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Gzrel wants to land a leg kick but Fenix is out of range.
Fenix misses the shot to the body.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gzrel enables Fenix to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gzrel manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Fenix has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Gzrel is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Oh Fenix is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Fenix is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Gzrel screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
