Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Folignus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evangelista Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Folignus comes to the cage accompanied by Laces Out. Nunes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Never Be Alone. On his way into the cage it seems that Nick Folignus has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Nick Folignus seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Evangelista Nunes!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Anthony Taglia and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Folignus connects with a nice looking jab.
Folignus seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Folignus swings for the body but Nunes moves out of range.
Folignus shoots for a takedown but Nunes saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Folignus shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nunes tries a low kick but Folignus avoids it.
Folignus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nunes moves away.
Folignus goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Nunes just misses with a punch to the body.
Nunes takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Nunes has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Nunes tried to score with a low kick but Folignus checks it.
Nunes connects with a leg kick. Folignus looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nunes lands a left and a right that send Folignus crashing to the mat, dazed. Nunes thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Folignus fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Nunes manages to avoid it.
Folignus checks a low kick from Nunes.
Folignus dives in for a single leg takedown but Nunes sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Folignus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nunes looking to throw knees to the head but Folignus is blocking nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee is keeping an eye on Folignus - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Nunes is trying to maintain a safe position but Folignus gets an underhook and turns Nunes into the cage.
Folignus has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Nunes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Folignus on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Nunes swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Nunes misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Folignus.
Folignus stalling.
Nunes is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Nunes takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Nunes with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Evangelista Nunes.
Folignus ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Nunes moves away.

Nunes is rocked!
Nunes bobbing and weaving nicely... He's ducked under a jab and ducks again but ooooooh! Folignus comes at him with an uppercut from hell! Nunes falls to the canvas, unconscious! This one is all over! Oh man, looking at the replay that was right on the button! Nunes was out before he hit the floor!
