The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Orton throws a right hand that Maeda ducks under and follows up with a left that Maeda also avoids with ease.
Maeda tries to clinch
and Orton makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Maeda really felt that one!
Orton scores with a one two! Maeda had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Keijiro Maeda has been cut.
Maeda tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Orton counters with a good low kick that Maeda was not able to check.
Orton keeps the fight on the outside.
Maeda tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Orton counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Orton prevents Maeda from getting back to his feet.

Orton tries to stand but Maeda is controlling from the bottom.

Maeda is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Orton really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Maeda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Orton gets to his feet. Maeda looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Maeda darts in trying to clinch

and Orton holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Orton gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Maeda.

Maeda breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Maeda.
Keijiro Maeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Orton throws a right and a left that both miss.
Maeda has his takedown stuffed
and Orton counters with a body kick that stops Maeda in his tracks momentarily.

and Orton counters with a good, hard body kick but Maeda shrugs it off.

Orton throws a head kick that misses
and Maeda counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Maeda keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

and Maeda counters with a head kick that crumples his opponent - he's in a world of trouble! Maeda looks at the referee who does nothing so Maeda lands a crushing right that sends Orton to the floor! This time the ref steps in to end the fight.
