Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ian Boxhorn!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxhorn fails with the takedown.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Boxhorn is defended easily by Jones.

Boxhorn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jones sprawls well initially but Boxhorn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Boxhorn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Boxhorn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Boxhorn connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Jones keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
My spies in Den of Tears (22 coaches, $300 fee) inform me that Boxhorn has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Jones preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Boxhorn is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Jones reverses the position - he's now on top in Boxhorn's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Boxhorn is keeping the position for now.
Jones won't allow Boxhorn to get back to his feet.
Boxhorn has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jon Jones just wasn't active enough.
Boxhorn takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Jones leaves Boxhorn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Jon Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ian Boxhorn.
Boxhorn on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Boxhorn uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Jones.
Jones connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Boxhorn's hands.
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Boxhorn stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Boxhorn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jones circles away quickly and effectively.
Boxhorn defending well as Jones loads up on a big left hand.
Boxhorn ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Boxhorn shoots in for a takedown but Jones shows good takedown defense.
Boxhorn fails to land the takedown.
Jones throws a chopping leg kick but Boxhorn manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boxhorn is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Boxhorn walks into a straight right hand from Jones.
Boxhorn walks straight into a right hand from Jones - that's dropped him! Jones jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Boxhorn from any more punishment! Boxhorn complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jon Jones!
Jon Jones decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
