Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Diaz Bros !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
22 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryu Hayabusa!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Shigeki Sano and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bros feints and then cracks Hayabusa's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hayabusa down.
Bros keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Hayabusa pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bros throws a half hearted mid kick.
Hayabusa throws a lazy head kick
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Bros .
Hayabusa gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Hayabusa misses with a two punch combination.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hayabusa moves into the clinch.
Bros blocks an elbow strike.
Bros pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Hayabusa tries to clinch but Bros moves away
and Bros counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Ryu Hayabusa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bros throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hayabusa counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A looping hook to the body misses from Bros . Hayabusa does a little dance to reset his feet.
Hayabusa tries to clinch
and Bros counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Hayabusa is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bros .
Bros avoids the head kick by Hayabusa.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hayabusa on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Hayabusa tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Bros manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hayabusa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bros lands with a hook. Hayabusa tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Bros chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Hayabusa tries to clinch but Bros is having none of it.
Bros moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hayabusa fails to land with a series of punches.
Hayabusa misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
We've been told by Bros 's head coaches at Stockton Cardio that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Bros connects with a body shot that sends Hayabusa's belly button to the back.
Bros misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bros ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bros looks to land a combination. Hayabusa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Bros 's corner calls for a 1-2. Bros obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Hayabusa throws a sloppy head kick

The fight stays on the outside here - Hayabusa looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hayabusa uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bros .
A slow jab from Bros misses its intended target.
Hayabusa bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bros is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Bros avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Hayabusa is looking to clinch but Bros is avoiding it.

Bros lands an overhand right.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bros stuns Hayabusa with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Hayabusa throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bros throws a leg kick that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Diaz Bros dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Hayabusa rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bros moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bros scores with a kick to the midsection.
Hayabusa tries to close the distance and clinch but Bros swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Hayabusa has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Bros .
Hayabusa wants to clinch.
Hayabusa throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Bros connects with a crisp jab.
Hayabusa misses with a series of wild punches.
A big right from Hayabusa misses.
Bros scores with a nice head shot.

Bros thuds his shin into the meat of Hayabusa's side.
Hayabusa is breathing heavily.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bros .
Bros is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Hayabusa's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Hayabusa throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick misses from Bros .
Hayabusa tries to clinch but Bros is having none of it.
Hayabusa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Bros lands a slapping body shot.
Bros throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Hayabusa crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bros - the referee stops the clock and Hayabusa gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bros . Hayabusa manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Bros just misses with a punch to the body.
Bros is looking to land body kicks.
Hayabusa throws a lazy head kick
and Bros counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hayabusa takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hayabusa is rocked!
Bros connects with a crushing straight, right on the bridge of Hayabusa's nose, sending him crumpling to the mat! That's really rocked Hayabusa - is he going to beat the count??? 4,5,6,7,8,9.....10 - he's not made it - this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Diaz Bros !
During a confident post fight interview, Diaz Bros thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
