Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Haplopelma Hainanum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Waclaw Panek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hainanum kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kryptonite by Three Doors Down. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Haplopelma Hainanum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Waclaw Panek!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Panek blocks the body kick.
Hainanum connects with a leg kick. Panek looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Hainanum tries to clinch but Panek is having none of it.
Panek throws a low kick, looking for Hainanum's leg but Hainanum calmly moves out of range.
A head kick misses from Hainanum.
Hainanum tries to clinch there but Panek circles away.
Panek blocks a head kick by Hainanum.

Hainanum gets caught flat footed, as Panek shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Panek accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hainanum is looking to control Panek but Panek is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Panek felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Hainanum is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Haplopelma Hainanum wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hainanum leaves Panek with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Haplopelma Hainanum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hainanum tries to close the distance and clinch but Panek swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Haplopelma Hainanum will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hainanum thows a body kick. Panek tries to catch it but that hurt him.
No joy there for Hainanum, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Panek got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hainanum has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Panek has managed to get both his arms back between Hainanum's legs - danger averted.
Hainanum utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Haplopelma Hainanum is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
