Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Muay Thai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thai's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Deadly Muay Thai Skills. Rasputin has chosen TURISAS - Rasputin as his entrance music. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 29 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasputin finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Thai doesn't manage to clinch there - Rasputin circles away.
Thai tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Rasputin counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Thai tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Thai misses with a knee strike.
Thai tries a knee to the head but Rasputin blocks it.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

We've been hearing good reports from Thai's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Rasputin is looking for a triangle but Thai pushes his legs off easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin has been cut.

Thai can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.

Muay Thai has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
With the fighters up against the cage, Rasputin throws an elbow but misses.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Muay Thai will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rasputin drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Thai dives on top into guard.
Thai throws a big right hand that misses.
Thai wants to get up but he can't break Rasputin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rasputin is on top in guard.
Rasputin wants to control from the top but Thai keeps moving.

Thai wants to stand but Rasputin is controlling the position.
Rasputin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rasputin wants to control from the top but Thai keeps moving.
Thai wants to stand and escape but Rasputin is having none of it.

My spies in Main Event Gym inform me that Rasputin has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Rasputin prevents Thai from getting back to his feet.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Rasputin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thai manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Rasputin has Thai in his guard.
Thai is looking to stand up but Rasputin won't let him.

Rasputin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Thai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Thai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Thai throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Thai is pushing Rasputin up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Thai tries to pull guard but Rasputin holds him up against the cage and eventually Thai drops back down to his feet.

Rasputin's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Rasputin counters by clinching up.
Rasputin lands with a short punch from the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Muay Thai dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

and Rasputin counters with a crisp right hand that drops Thai! Rasputin lets Thai back up to his feet, looking for a finish!


Thai is rocked!


It looks like Muay Thai has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rasputin connects with a stiff jab that staggers Thai - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin!
Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin gave a mention to Das Labor in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
