Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeffery Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mountain Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

15 - 43 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mountain Rivera!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rivera paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rivera has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Jeffery Maynard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maynard tries to clinch there but Rivera circles away.
Rivera has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Rivera there as he acknowledges the shot.
It looks like Mountain Rivera has been cut.
Maynard tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rivera paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Rivera circles away from the clinch attempt.
Maynard steps into range and cracks Rivera with a monster punch that buckles his knees! Rivera flops backwards and Maynard dives into his guard looking to finish!

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rivera has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Maynard can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Rivera is still in real trouble! Can Maynard finish him?

Maynard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Maynard stands up and waves to Rivera to follow him.
Maynard throws a sloppy head kick and Rivera moves out of range easily.
Maynard gets a clinch.
Rivera is working for takedown but Maynard is calmly controlling the position for now.
Maynard presses Rivera against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maynard lands a left hand.
Rivera tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Maynard just stands there and leans against the cage.
Rivera looks winded!
Maynard lands with a right to the head.
Maynard blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Maynard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Maynard weaves into range and cracks Rivera right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Rivera goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Maynard is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jeffery Maynard !
