Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bornas Lopette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopette comes to the cage accompanied by Boom Shalock lock boom. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bornas Lopette!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Calvin Tate!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tate bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Tate avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lopette thows a left - swing and a miss!

Tate throws a solid leg kick but Lopette takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Tate.
Lopette pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Tate drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tate is trying to get an arm triangle but Lopette is defending well.

Tate wants to control for a moment but Lopette uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
Tate has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Tate escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lopette gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lopette stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tate swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Lopette won't allow Tate to sweep him here.
Tate keeps trying to improve his position.
Tate keeping moving, preventing Lopette from controlling successfully.
Tate has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lopette has passed into side control.
Tate manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Tate is trying to work for a kimura but Lopette is defending well.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tate is nestled in close to Lopette, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tate working over Lopette with some ground and pound. Lopette looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Tate is trying to control. Lopette wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Calvin Tate showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Lopette looks to throw the jab but Tate is out of range.
Lopette fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tate manages to avoid it.

Lopette throws a poor cross that misses
and Tate counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Lopette throws a solid leg kick but Tate takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Lopette.

Tate throws a lazy head kick
and Lopette counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Tate misses with a leg kick
and Lopette counters with a low kick, right behind Tate 's knee.
Lopette takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Tate crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Lopette - the referee stops the clock and Tate gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Lopette. Tate manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Lopette throws a hook to the side of Tate's head but Tate sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Tate is looking to score with low kicks.
Lopette throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Tate sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lopette has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tate.
Tate tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lopette sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tate somewhat.

Lopette misses with a straight right.
Tate ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Tate manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lopette on his heels. He'll look to pass Lopette's guard now, I'm sure.
