Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Frito Lei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Keats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Frito Lei has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Frito Lei seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lei tries to clinch up
and Keats counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Lei is looking to clinch but Keats is avoiding it.
Lei tries to clinch up but Keats circles away and keeps his distance.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lei enables Keats to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lei manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Lei wants to stand but Keats is controlling the position.
Keats stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lei swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Keats content to stall in guard here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lei wants to get back to his feet but Keats is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ben Keats was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Lei throws a body kick that misses
and Keats counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Lei looks to clinch
and Keats counters with an outside leg kick.

Keats moves into range and clinches up with Lei.
Lei swings wildly with an uppercut but Keats uses good head movement to avoid it.
Keats tries for a takedown. No joy.
Lei throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Lei breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Keats avoids the head kick by Lei.
Lei misses with a kick to the body
and Keats counters with an outside leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Lei.
Frito Lei is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Keats plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Keats checks a leg kick.
Lei is looking to clinch.
Lei throws a head kick but Keats moves out of range.
Lei with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Lei wants to clinch up but Keats keeps it at a distance.
Lei looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Frito Lei seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lei clinches up with Keats and pushes him back against the cage.
Lei is looking to break free of the clinch but Keats has double underhooks.

Lei manages to break the clinch.
Lei throws a right hand that Keats ducks under and follows up with a left that Keats also avoids with ease.
Keats tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lei defends well and Keats ends up having to push Lei into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lei missing with knees to the body.

Keats's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Keats is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lei's half guard.

Keats stands up out of the half guard.

Keats blocks a head kick by Lei.
A head kick by Lei misses

and Keats counters with a head kick that drops Lei to the mat! Lei scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Lei is rocked!

Lei moves in looking to clinch but Keats pushes him off.
Oh Lei is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Keats cracks Lei with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Lei tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Keats pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Lei is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Keats!
Ben Keats seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
