Filgueiras seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Filgueiras takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Pettis moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Pettis has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Filgueiras is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Pettis .
Pettis tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Filgueiras wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Filgueiras has hold of Pettis 's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Pettis seems comfortable defending it but Filgueiras has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Pettis is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Pettis is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Filgueiras couldn't care less - he's delighted!
