PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kyo Kurosaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Harbor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kurosaki comes into the arena with Different Sense - Dir En Grey blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyo Kurosaki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Harbor!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurosaki tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Kurosaki closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Harbor quickly recovers to half guard.
Harbor moves into full guard.

Harbor throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kurosaki looking to sit in guard and control but Harbor gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Harbor looking to pass the guard.
Kurosaki lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Harbor!
Kurosaki trying to control but Harbor is having none of it.
Harbor gets back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harbor wants to control but Kurosaki is keeping busy.
Kurosaki thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Harbor's head.
Harbor trying to hold on to Kurosaki's head to control him but Kurosaki postures up.
Kurosaki not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Harbor is trying to maintain the position but Kurosaki is very close to passing his half guard.
Kurosaki is trying to control the action in half guard but Harbor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Kurosaki working over Harbor with some ground and pound. Harbor looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Kurosaki slips a nice elbow through Harbor's hands, connecting with Harbor's forehead.
Harbor keeping hold of Kurosaki's head, controlling as best he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Harbor is trying to control but Kurosaki manages to pass to mount!

Kurosaki lands a big shot there that rocks Harbor but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.


Harbor is rocked!
Harbor tries to lock up and control but Kurosaki gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Harbor is still in real trouble! Can Kurosaki finish him?
Harbor is in all sorts of trouble here.
Harbor seems to have recovered his senses.
Harbor slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Harbor wants to improve his position but Kurosaki is controlling well.
Harbor is still trying to improve position.
Kurosaki not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Harbor avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Kurosaki.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harbor slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Kurosaki passes Harbor's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kurosaki lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Harbor is positioning himself well to prevent Kurosaki advancing to mount.
Harbor makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Harbor.
Kurosaki wants to control from the top but Harbor keeps moving.

Kurosaki got a little sloppy there for a moment and Harbor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kurosaki has managed to get both his arms back between Harbor's legs - danger averted.
Harbor is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Kurosaki lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kurosaki postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kurosaki throwing strikes from guard but Harbor blocks nicely.
Kurosaki is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Harbor is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kurosaki with a flurry of punches that miss.
Kurosaki is looking to work some ground and pound but Harbor has wrist control.
Kurosaki trying to control but Harbor is working from the bottom.
Kurosaki scoring with punches to the head and body.
Harbor manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kurosaki manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Kurosaki looking for a sweep. Not yet Kurosaki, not yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kyo Kurosaki dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Kurosaki does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Harbor checks a leg kick nicely.
Kurosaki dives in and grabs Harbor's left leg, looking for a takedown. Harbor pushes down on Kurosaki's head and hops out.
Kurosaki closes the distance looking to clinch

and Harbor counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Kurosaki is pulling down on Harbor's head. It's preventing any offense from Harbor, at least for the moment.
Harbor trying to control the position from guard on top but Kurosaki is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Harbor preventing the sweep.
Kurosaki manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Kurosaki scoring with strikes but Harbor is staying in there.
Harbor is working to get back to half guard.
Kurosaki loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Harbor scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Kurosaki land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Kurosaki stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kyo Kurosaki!
Kyo Kurosaki decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
