PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenta Kobashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julian Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kobashi comes to the cage accompanied by DJ Krush - Kemuri. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kenta Kobashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julian Knight!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Knight. Kobashi shrugs it off though.
Kobashi tries to land a front kick but Knight steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Kobashi walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Knight has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Kobashi ducks under a wild hook from Knight.

Kobashi pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kobashi takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Knight tries to close the distance and clinch but Kobashi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Knight throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kobashi tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Knight is in Kobashi's guard.

Knight is looking to work some ground and pound but Kobashi has wrist control.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Knight's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Kobashi pushes Knight off and scrambles back to his feet.

Kobashi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Hunter's hideout in the buildup to the fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Kobashi. Knight does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kobashi attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Kobashi ducks under a wild hook from Knight.
Knight lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Kobashi throws out a leg kick but Knight moves out of range and Kobashi only half commits.
Kobashi looks to land a body kick but Knight moved away.
Knight avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Knight is looking to pass into half guard but Kobashi pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Kobashi is in guard.

Knight is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Knight uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Kobashi.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Kobashi counters with a stiff right hand.
Kobashi feints and then cracks Knight's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Knight down.
Kenta Kobashi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Knight shoots for a takedown but Kobashi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Knight bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Knight cracks Kobashi with an open hand slap.
Knight feints a jab promting Kobashi to slip. Knight then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kobashi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Kobashi.
Knight looks for the body kick but Kobashi saw that one coming.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
