Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Iko Hitigaki!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hitigaki shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Perez as he avoids it easily.
Perez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hitigaki tries to avoid it but Perez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hitigaki to the ground. Hitigaki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hitigaki throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hitigaki with a poor takedown
and Perez counters with a straight right hand.
Hitigaki gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Perez to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Perez slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Perez advances to full mount.
Perez has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Hitigaki is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). David Perez!
David Perez bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
