Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Chris Herzog (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Marsh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Herzog might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Takida - Curly Sue. Chris Herzog has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 20 - 3, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Herzog!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Marsh!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as Marsh lands an impressive looking overhand right. Herzog doesn't seem phased though.
Marsh misses the shot to the body.
Herzog sizes up Marsh with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Marsh takes a swing at Herzog's ribcage but misses.
Herzog lands with a thumping leg kick.
The crowd cheers as Marsh lands an impressive looking overhand right. Herzog doesn't seem phased though.

Herzog turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Marsh connects with a body shot.

Herzog chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Marsh can pounce on him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Marsh throws the left hand but Herzog avoids the punch easily.
Herzog scores with a sloppy right hand. Marsh should have avoided that one.
Marsh lands a leg kick that knocks Herzog off balance momentarily.

Herzog bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Marsh's head backwards.
Herzog motions for Marsh to come forward. Herzog throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Marsh throws a hook to the side of Herzog's head but Herzog sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Herzog is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Herzog checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Marsh lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Herzog has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Herzog and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Marsh takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Marsh tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Herzog was well out of range. Poor timing from Marsh.

Herzog looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Herzog throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Marsh sees it coming and avoids it easily.
A slow jab from Marsh misses its intended target.
Herzog is looking to land body kicks.
Herzog throws a sloppy head kick and Marsh moves out of range easily.
Marsh sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Herzog is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Herzog scores with a crisp jab that stopped Marsh in his tracks.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Marsh not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Herzog will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Herzog makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marsh is on top in guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That was a close round but I would say that Chris Herzog will probably get the nod.

Herzog drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Marsh sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Herzog is nestled in close to Marsh, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Marsh is on top in guard.

Kris Marsh showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Marsh is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Herzog sees it coming and defends easily.

Kris Marsh comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Marsh has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
