Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westphalen moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Gilligan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Westphalen finds it's way round the side to connect with Gilligan's head.
Westphalen moves out of range of the strikes.
Gilligan scores with a jab to the head.
Gilligan tries to score a power double leg takedown but Westphalen sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gilligan somewhat.
Westphalen scores with a hook to the body. Gilligan takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Westphalen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Westphalen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Gilligan counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Westphalen's guard now.

Gilligan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Westphalen is trying to defend but Gilligan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gilligan throws the left hand but Westphalen avoids the punch easily.

Westphalen stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Westphalen wants it to stay on the feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Gilligan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
