Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tristan Coffey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Salvus Legionario!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Emerson Jorge and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Legionario closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Legionario tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Coffey smiles and moves away.
Coffey defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Legionario.
Legionario doesn't manage to clinch there - Coffey circles away.
Legionario is trying hard to land a takedown here. Coffey sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tristan Coffey has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Salvus Legionario.
Coffey will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Legionario shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Coffey cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Legionario gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Coffey postures up.
Coffey trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Legionario looking to control.

Coffey trying to stand up but can't free himself from Legionario's guard.
Coffey tries to free his leg and advance position but Legionario is retaining full guard.
Coffey slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Salvus Legionario has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Legionario comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Coffey clinches up against the cage.

Legionario successfully pulls guard.
Coffey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Legionario is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Coffey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Coffey advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Legionario tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Legionario working to try and regain half guard.

Coffey scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Coffey looking to control but Legionario is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Coffey content just to control the position here.
Legionario is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Coffey controlling his opponent.

Legionario is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Legionario tries to improve his position but instead Coffey has taken his back!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
I would not like to be Legionario right now.
Coffey lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Coffey's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Coffey shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Legionario manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Coffey seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Legionario working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Coffey has passed into half guard!
Still in half guard, Coffey seems content to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Coffey trying to mount his opponent but Legionario defends it.
Legionario is trying to maintain the position but Coffey is very close to passing his half guard.

Legionario tries to get to full guard but Coffey has control of the leg.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Tristan Coffey has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Legionario tries for a takedown but Coffey circles away easily

and Coffey counters with a takedown into side control.
Tristan Coffey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Legionario is breathing heavily.
Coffey wants to stand but Legionario has his arm trapped.
Legionario is trying to control Coffey's posture but Coffey avoids it.
Coffey takes a little break here. Legionario wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Legionario is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Coffey's leg. Oh but that's left an opportunity for Coffey! He's got an arm triangle... it looks tight! He's rotating and Legionario has tapped! This one is allllll over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Tristan Coffey!
