Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Karim Chamakh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sevent Seagull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chamakh's entrance music is Robyn - Indestructible. A fine choice. Seagull has chosen Van Halen - Jump as his entrance music. Sevent Seagull will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 34 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Karim Chamakh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 3, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sevent Seagull!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Atkins and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Seagull feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Chamakh's calf.
Seagull misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Seagull throws a low kick but Chamakh avoids it.
Chamakh checks a low kick from Seagull.
Chamakh keeps the fight on the outside.
Seagull moves to clinch but Chamakh breaks away

so Chamakh counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Chamakh working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.

Seagull pulls Chamakh in close to prevent any damage.

Seagull manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Chamakh manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Sevent Seagull was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Seagull throws a sloppy head kick and Chamakh moves out of range easily.

Chamakh throws an elbow that misses. Seagull uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Chamakh's guard. Nice move by Seagull!
Chamakh has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chamakh wants to sweep but no luck.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Seagull wants to stand but Chamakh has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Sevent Seagull has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

and Chamakh counters with a single leg into guard. Seagull didn't expect that.

Chamakh throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Seagull works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Seagull throws a low kick but Chamakh moves out of range easily.
Seagull throws a solid leg kick but Chamakh takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Seagull.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Chamakh checks a leg kick.
Seagull walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Chamakh checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Seagull lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Seagull tries to clinch up but Chamakh circles away and keeps his distance.
Chamakh changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Seagull tries to avoid it but Chamakh manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Seagull to the ground. Seagull escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Seagull throws a low kick but it's checked well by Chamakh.

and Chamakh counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Seagull's guard now.

Seagull kicks Chamakh off and gets to his feet.
Seagull throws a head kick but Chamakh moves out of range.
Seagull fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Chamakh is out of range.
Chamakh looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Chamakh gets tackled into the cage by Seagull. Seagull maintains the clinch.
Chamakh goes for a takedown attempt but Seagull pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Seagull wants to land a leg kick but Chamakh is out of range.
Chamakh displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Seagull throws out the jab.

Seagull feints and then cracks Chamakh's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Chamakh down.

Sevent Seagull showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
