Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phil Solomon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joonya Parker!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Solomon enables Parker to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Solomon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Solomon keeping moving, preventing Parker from controlling successfully.
Parker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Solomon is working an open guard so Parker takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Phil Solomon.

Parker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Solomon regains half guard.
Parker seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Solomon does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Solomon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Parker is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Parker throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Parker might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Solomon haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Parker is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Parker shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Parker showed some decent athleticism there.

Parker postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Solomon to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joonya Parker showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Parker works over Solomon's head and body with a nice combination.
Parker defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Solomon.

Solomon gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.


Solomon is rocked!
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Parker accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Oh Solomon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Parker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Parker stands and throws Solomon's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Parker tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Parker has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Solomon parries the strikes from Parker easily there. Parker is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Solomon to escape.
Solomon is looking for a sweep.
Parker is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parker cracks Solomon with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Parker advances nicely into full mount.
Parker loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Solomon scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Parker land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Parker stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:58 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joonya Parker!
