Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eskobar Andersson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Nix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nix comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Gorilla Militia by Bliss n Eso kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Chris Dean and Topper Green.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nix comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Eskobar Andersson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Nix. Andersson does a little dance to reset his feet.
Andersson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Andersson looks to clinch

and Nix counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Nix.
Nix trying to control the position from guard on top but Andersson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We've been hearing good reports from Andersson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Andersson is trying to control but can't.
Nix tries to pass the half guard into mount. Andersson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Andersson wants to get back to his feet.
Andersson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Nix wants to work for an arm triangle but Andersson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

and Nix counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Nix tries to free his leg and advance position but Andersson is retaining full guard.
Joey Nix has got the better of the ground game so far.
Nix wants to control from the top but Andersson keeps moving.
Nix stands and throws Andersson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Nix wants to lay and pray for a moment but Andersson keeps working.

Nix works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Andersson is not content to let Nix control the position.

Nix lands a strong strike to the head of Andersson. That's dazed him! Nix looking to finish here. Andersson is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Nix lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
