The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Malapitan as Ragnarson shoots in.
Ragnarson has a takedown stuffed.
Ragnarson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

and Malapitan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ragnarson's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Malapitan is looking to work some ground and pound but Ragnarson has wrist control.

Ragnarson pulls Malapitan in close to prevent any damage.

Malapitan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ragnarson is on top in guard.
Ragnarson is pushing down on Malapitan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Malapitan is fighting to maintain full guard but Ragnarson has managed to sneak the leg through.
Malapitan is looking to improve his position.

Ragnarson drops an elbow to the side of Malapitan's head.
Ragnarson is pressing down on Malapitan's thigh, looking to free his foot. Malapitan is holding on for now.
Ragnarson has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Ragnarson lands a heavy elbow.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Malapitan suckers Ragnarson into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Malapitan is now in Ragnarson's guard!

Malapitan takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Ragnarson's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
