PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Banjo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julisz Michal Kasperski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy Banjo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Julisz Michal Kasperski!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kasperski checks a leg kick nicely.
Banjo tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kasperski swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Kasperski throws a series of punches but Banjo avoids them all with ease.
Banjo swings for the body but Kasperski moves out of range.
Banjo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kasperski tries to avoid it but Banjo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kasperski to the ground. Kasperski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kasperski fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kasperski scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Banjo misses with a takedown attempt
and Kasperski counters with a three punch combo that has Banjo backing up. Banjo nods at Kasperski to acknowledge the strikes.

Kasperski has closed the distance and engaged Banjo in a clinch.

Banjo pulls guard effortlessly.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Kasperski is looking to work some ground and pound but Banjo has wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kasperski throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Banjo has momentary wrist control but Kasperski slips an elbow through the middle.
Banjo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Banjo tries to get out of the position.
Kasperski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Kasperski is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Kasperski trying to control the position from guard on top but Banjo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kasperski is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kasperski rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Banjo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Kasperski gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kasperski stops a takedown attempt from Banjo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Banjo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kasperski can't find room to land a body shot as Banjo controls the action.
Kasperski lands with a short punch from the clinch.

Kasperski gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Banjo.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Kasperski has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.

Banjo is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Kasperski to keep the fight standing.
Kasperski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Banjo's elbow.

Kasperski keeps control of Banjo as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kasperski lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Banjo or not.
Kasperski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Banjo's elbow.
Banjo is trying to drag Kasperski to the mat but Kasperski just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Banjo tries to pull guard but Kasperski won't allow it.

Banjo is trying to pull guard but Kasperski turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Kasperski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Banjo fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Julisz Michal Kasperski is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kasperski throws a right hand that Banjo ducks under and follows up with a left that Banjo also avoids with ease.
Banjo shoots in but no luck this time.
Kasperski stuffs the takedown.
Banjo is breathing heavily.
Kasperski moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Banjo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Kasperski defends it nicely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kasperski has closed the distance and engaged Banjo in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Julisz Michal Kasperski dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Banjo seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Kasperski shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Banjo is backing up but Kasperski catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Banjo covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Kasperski Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Julisz Michal Kasperski!
Julisz Michal Kasperski spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
