The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Muerta fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Reigns.

De Muerta shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
De Muerta is trying to control the action in half guard but Reigns is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

De Muerta throws a big elbow that misses.
Reigns avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Reigns utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Reigns is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
De Muerta wants to pass the guard but Reigns is keeping the position.

We're going to have a standup here because Raoul De Muerta wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
De Muerta takes one to the side of the head.
De Muerta throws a nice outside leg kick.
De Muerta throws a good cross that connects.

It looks like Roman Reigns has been cut.
BOOM! De Muerta lands a beautiful left hook that drops Reigns. Reigns tries to recover but De Muerta is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Reigns lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
