PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lars Kenardly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dario Solaric (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kenardly comes to the cage accompanied by Strokin. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Lars Kenardly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dario Solaric!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Solaric lands a jab to Kenardly's midsection.
Solaric throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Solaric ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kenardly moves away.
A shot to the liver by Solaric. Beautiful body shot.
Solaric defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Kenardly.
Kenardly dives in for a single leg takedown but Solaric sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Solaric breaks from the clinch.
Kenardly doesn't manage to clinch there - Solaric circles away.
Solaric's coach down at Weed Nation was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Solaric's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Solaric scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Kenardly takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Solaric misses with a wild combination.
Solaric scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kenardly doesn't seem bothered though.
Kenardly fails to land the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Lars Kenardly. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Solaric just misses with a punch to the body.
Solaric lunges at Kenardly with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Kenardly's hand.


It looks like Lars Kenardly has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Solaric leaves Kenardly with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Solaric bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kenardly moves to clinch but Solaric breaks away
and Solaric counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kenardly is looking to land body kicks.
A solid leg kick lands there for Solaric.
Solaric ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kenardly moves away.

and Solaric counters with an inside leg kick.
Kenardly darts in trying to clinch
and Solaric counters with a nice body shot.

Solaric lands a right hook to the body.
Solaric misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kenardly.

Solaric lands with a good body shot.
Solaric slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Kenardly is looking to clinch but Solaric is avoiding it.
Kenardly slips a jab and a cross from Solaric.
Kenardly tries to clinch
and Kenardly takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Solaric fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kenardly manages to avoid it.

Kenardly moves into range and clinches up with Solaric.

Solaric breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Solaric lands with a straight right. Kenardly didn't see that one coming.
Kenardly walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Kenardly. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kenardly looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Kenardly shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Solaric is trying to defend but Kenardly finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
We've been hearing that Kenardly has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Solaric moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Solaric is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kenardly has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Solaric is working away from the top position though.
Kenardly is trying to stand up here but Solaric is controlling him well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Solaric performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Kenardly is trying to get back to full guard.
Kenardly is not content to let Solaric control the position.
Kenardly wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kenardly wants to get back to his feet.
Kenardly wants to control the action here but instead Solaric manages to pass to full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kenardly tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Solaric counters with a left to the body.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Solaric in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.
Kenardly doesn't manage to clinch there - Solaric circles away.
Kenardly closes the distance but Solaric moves to the side
and Solaric counters with a solid body kick.
Solaric steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kenardly. That one must have hurt.
Lars Kenardly is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kenardly scores with a leg kick.
Solaric thows a body shot but no joy.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kenardly is defended easily by Solaric.
Kenardly on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Solaric. Solaric obviously looking to wear him down.
Kenardly throws a leg kick but Solaric sees it coming and moves out of range.
Solaric fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Kenardly misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sloppy strikes from Solaric. Those never looked like landing.

Solaric scoring well with a low kick there.
Solaric lands a leg kick that knocks Kenardly off balance momentarily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Solaric. Kenardly shrugs it off though.
Solaric is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Kenardly rather than just go for the knockout.
Good standup being displayed there by Solaric as he connects with a hook.

Solaric connects with a nice cross there... Kenardly is looking wobbly and Solaric recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Kenardly to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Solaric jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
