The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malone clinches up with Rivera and pushes him back against the cage.
Rivera's coach down at 11th Planet Fitness ($300/wk) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Rivera's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Malone's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rivera throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Malone's waist but Malone gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rivera off to one side.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Malone - that will leave a mark!
A left lands for Malone.

It looks like Mountain Rivera has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Malone takes the fight into the clinch.
Malone stops a takedown attempt from Rivera.
Malone works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Malone managing to block the knees to the body from Rivera.
Rivera takes an elbow to the temple.
Malone scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Malone breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
BAM! Malone delivers a spinning backfist that drops Rivera like a ragdoll! This is all oooooveeeer! He was out before he hit the ground!
