PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Djetic Dicni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adrian Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dicni comes to the cage accompanied by OJ SVJETLA MAJSKA ZORO . The key to victory for Djetic Dicni has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Djetic Dicni!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Adrian Lewis!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dicni misses with a combination

and Lewis counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lewis is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lewis stands and throws Dicni's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Lewis in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Dicni tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lewis wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dicni can't do much from the bottom here.

Lewis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dicni is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Lewis or perhaps it was just good defense by Dicni which made him look bad.
Lewis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dicni looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Dicni gets caught napping as Lewis dives in and scores a takedown. Dicni manages to retain guard.
Lewis engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Dicni looking for a sweep. Not yet Dicni, not yet.
Lewis's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lewis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Dicni's guard.
Lewis uses his free foot to push down on Dicni's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dicni.

Lewis's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Dicni keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Dicni wants to control but Lewis is having none of it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lewis controlling the pace for now.
Dicni tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adrian Lewis wasn't active enough on the ground.
Dicni looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lewis is fending him off so far but Dicni persists. Nope, Lewis circles away and we're back to standing.

so Lewis counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Dicni can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lewis controls the pace.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Lewis won't allow Dicni to sweep him here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adrian Lewis has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Lewis feints and as Dicni raises his hands in defense, Lewis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Lewis controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Lewis has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Dicni gets caught flat footed, as Lewis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Dicni seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Lewis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dicni napping and manages to drive through into side control!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Adrian Lewis was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Lewis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Lewis fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Dicni to the ground. Lewis is now in Dicni's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lewis is pushing down on Dicni's leg trying to pass to half guard. Dicni is fighting to maintain full guard but Lewis has managed to sneak the leg through.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Lewis is looking for a kimura but Dicni is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lewis to get the leverage.
Lewis looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lewis wants to free his trapped foot but Dicni is holding on for dear life with his legs.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Dicni is trying to get back to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dicni is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lewis pulls his head out easily.

Dicni drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dicni has knee on belly momentarily but Lewis bucks him off and regains half guard.

Dicni is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adrian Lewis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Dicni stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Dicni wants it to stay on the feet.
Lewis shoots in and drives through. Dicni sprawls well.
Djetic Dicni is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lewis takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Djetic Dicni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adrian Lewis.

Lewis goes for a double leg but Dicni avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Dicni continues to drive forward.

Dicni breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Dicni closes the distance and clinches up with Lewis, looking for a takedown. Dicni pushes Lewis against the cage but Lewis circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Lewis shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Djetic Dicni is winning the standup battle so far.
Dicni fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Lewis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dicni defends it nicely.

Dicni is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lewis's half guard.

Dicni wants to stand up but Lewis is controlling the position.

Dicni has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Lewis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dicni lands a nice shot to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dicni wants to stand but Lewis is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Lewis wants to hold on but Dicni pushes him away.
Lewis felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Lewis manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Dicni wants to stand and escape but instead Lewis has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Dicni leaves Lewis with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Dicni shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lewis's guard.
Dicni is looking to stand up but Lewis won't let him.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dicni has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lewis is proving hard to escape from.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Dicni.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Djetic Dicni.
I think Lewis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
