Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Travis Garcia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pale Monster (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Garcia might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to What You Gonna Do. The key to victory for Travis Garcia has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Travis Garcia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Pale Monster!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia tries to bum rush Monster with a series of wild strikes but Monster uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Garcia looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Monster shoots in for a takedown but Garcia shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Monster tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Garcia swivels and escapes.
Monster dives in for a single leg takedown but Garcia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Travis Garcia has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pale Monster.
Garcia has had enough of the clinch but Monster keeps him there for the moment.
Garcia is trying to push Monster away but Monster has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Monster can't get the takedown.
Monster is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Garcia pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Garcia's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Garcia throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Monster.
Monster dives in for a single leg takedown but Garcia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Monster is trying to drag Garcia to the mat but Garcia just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Monster jumps guard but Garcia stands there with Monster around his waist. Monster gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Garcia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Monster bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Monster tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Monster has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Garcia takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Monster has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Monster fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Garcia to the ground. Monster is now in Garcia's guard.
Garcia on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Garcia tries to get out of the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Monster postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Monster is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Monster in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Garcia keeping moving, preventing Monster from controlling successfully.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Monster's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Monster throwing strikes but missing.
Monster slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Monster working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Monster has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Garcia is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Monster yanks on the arm and Garcia is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Monster.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Pale Monster!
In defeat, Travis Garcia stepped up to the mic, saying 'Vuelvo listo para una guerra'.
