PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Wells Dengel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dexter Rutecki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dengel kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Flames by Lil Dicky!. Rutecki comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Remember the Name kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutecki throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dengel lands an overhand right.
Rutecki swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Dengel throws a hook but Rutecki blocks it.
Rutecki scores with a leg kick.
Rutecki cracks the inside of Dengel's front leg.
Dengel lands a head kick!

It looks like Dexter Rutecki has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rutecki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

The fighters circle momentarily. Dengel darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Rutecki missing with a left hand there. Dengel was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dengel. Rutecki does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dengel takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Dengel shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Dengel throws a head kick that misses.
Rutecki scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Dengel doesn't seem bothered though.
Dengel loads up on a big right hand but Rutecki slips the punch.
Rutecki buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dengel checks a leg kick.
Rutecki lands a leg kick that knocks Dengel off balance momentarily.
A head kick misses from Rutecki.
Dengel throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Rutecki gets cracked there but stands up to it.
A head kick from Dengel lands but Rutecki takes it in his stride.
Rutecki lands a jab to Dengel's midsection.
Dengel listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Rutecki walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Dengel checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Dengel scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dengel is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Dengel pivots, looking for a leg kick but Rutecki is out of range and Dengel settles back down.
Dengel throws a nice looking combination but Rutecki bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rutecki's jab looks to have found its range, popping Dengel under the eye.

Rutecki misses with a few strikes there.
Rutecki connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dengel's hands.
Dengel throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Dengel steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rutecki.
A big left from Rutecki misses.
Good exchange - Rutecki coming out on top.
Dengel misses with a jab to the body
and Dengel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Dengel is rocked!
Dengel walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Dengel is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!
