The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hart misses with a head kick.
Thomson connects with a jab.

It looks like Bernie Hart has been cut.
Thomson misses with a kick to the body
and Hart counters with a nice kick to the body.
Hart swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hart lands a jab to the nose.

It looks like Craig Thomson has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Thomson avoids the head kick by Hart.
Thomson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Thomson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Hart throws a big shot that misses.
Hart misses with a straight left.
Hart swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Hart throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Thomson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hart throws the left hand but Thomson avoids the punch easily.
Hart misses with a wild combination.
Hart moves out of range of the body kick.

Thomson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hart getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Thomson walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Thomson ducks under a wild hook from Hart.
Hart throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Thomson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hart misses with a double jab
and Thomson counters with a right hand to the body.
Hart pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Thomson scores with a jab and follows up with an uppercut that drops Hart to his knees! He bounces straight back to his feet but is forced to take the mandatory standing 8 count before he's allowed to continue. We're back under way and the fighters meet in the middle of the canvas to re-engage.
Hart lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Thomson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hart is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Thomson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hart has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hart looks winded!
Thomson fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Hart walks into a left hand.

That has opened up Bernie Hart's cut even more.
Hart misses with a head kick.
Hart stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Thomson.
Thomson lands a leg kick that knocks Hart off balance momentarily.
Thomson scores with a body shot.
Thomson seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Thomson dips to his left and cracks Hart with an uppercut!
Hart is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Thomson doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Hart crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Hart's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Craig Thomson!
Craig Thomson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
